Ironman & Garden Group

Charlee's rigorous pursuit of the Ironman enabled her to complete her first Ironman Triathlon in the top 20% of women participating. She began her training in 2003 in the back of the pack running 11-minute miles. In 2007, Charlee completed her first 50 mile run, the JFK 50, exceeding her goal of finishing under 9 hours. Her dedication and commitment to this pursuit mirrors her values and approach to her clients' successes.

Key Learnings from Charlee's Ironman Pursuits:

  • Improvising works best if you plan first. Plan your race, race your plan. Nothing new race day. Yet intelligent improvision is critical for a successful race. (Ask Charlee about drinking lake water.)
  • Sometimes you have to go slow to be fast.
  • A supportive team makes all the difference. You are totally on your own, but never alone.
  • Intensity requires recovery. Take time to rest. Sleep enough to dream.
  • Balance between pushing and respecting your limits as you grow. Like a rubber band : don't stretch it at all and it's useless; stretch it too much and it snaps.

Charlee presses beyond reasonableness to produce outrageous results for herself and her clients.

The journey continues…Ironman Arizona 2008!
