Our Approach

Around Strategy or Business Change:

People who work with Charlee achieve resultsthey are inspired to take action that makes a difference. Our approach is to build momentum around strategy through embracing the following governing principles that ensure the success of any organization change project:

We work at the intersection between business & psychology -- using both disciplines in responding to client needs.
  • Involve & Engage rather than Tell & Sell : The process is based on “sneak previews”. Everyone in the organization will be directly touched/involved in discussing the impact the strategy will have on their day-to-day job. By the time the strategy is formally announced, it will be old news.
  • Change-by-doing. Modeling the behaviors and expectations of the future organization as we move through the process. The catalysts will act and receive feedback throughout the process, thereby refining their skills as change agents.
  • Iterative and responsive rather than fixed and predetermined: Acknowledging that organizations are living entities. We will start with a broad outline and refine it based on the data we gather from the organization and the skills/effectiveness of the catalyst team as we go forward.
  • Positive Business Impact must be in the foreground. In addition to responding to the strategy, people need to participate in accomplishing something that will have direct value for the business. Inspiration is a by-product of working together to achieve success on something that matters.
  • Inspire rather than Motivate. We can’t “motivate/change” others; rather, as leaders in the organization our goal is to CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT where people choose to give 110%. Realize that every interaction we have as leaders has a ripple effect – it either invites people to contribute to their fullest or encourages people to do as little as possible to get by.

Around Training and Development:

In the arena of individual training or team development, our approach is based on…

  • Utilizing current business challenges as a vehicle for learning. Success around issues that matter to the participants is effective communication. Therefore, we use a combination of experiential exercises and live business issues when working with teams.
  • Realizing that the any training program is just the beginning. Planning for follow-up and reinforcement is even more important than attending a program.
  • Discovering individual communication blind spots is critical. An accurate self-assessment is the key to effectiveness. By creating a supportive, yet challenging environment participants are given the opportunity to receive feedback on how they impact others.
  • Accompanying tips and techniques with astute facilitation. Each session will reach the same outcome and no two sessions are ever the same. The course structure recognizes that communication skills are simple to understand and difficult to implement. An improv style of facilitation allows the specific content to be guided by the needs and interests of the participants.
